The development of cinema began in 1895, when the French brothers Lumiere discovered and developed the principles of recording a moving image on a plate. Later, it was filled with sound and color, the size of the image increased, which contributed to the creation of a network of special facilities - cinemas. Modern cinemas are classified: by repertoire - feature film, chronicle, children's, repeat film cinemas; by the number of halls - one-, two-, three- and four-halls with foyers and corridors; behind the film screening system - ordinary; widescreen, coffered. In the halls for spectators, 3% of the total number of seats are seats for the disabled. According to the nature of the territorial location, cinemas are of regional and citywide significance. The size of the plot is taken from the calculation of 3-5 m2 per seat in the hall for spectators. The site provides for an individual parking lot for the disabled and special devices for the use of the disabled throughout the territory and the building. The functional layout of the vestibule, foyer and hall often determines the symmetrical reception of the overall composition, which has two options: side and front. A special group was formed by two- and three-screen cinemas. They are functionally and economically efficient and create unlimited compositional possibilities. All cinema premises are divided into the following complexes and groups:

- premises of the complex for spectators (cash lobby, entrance lobby, foyer, buffet, etc.);

- premises of the demonstration complex (hall for spectators, room for technical support of the cinema);

- administrative, utility and production premises (cashiers' cabins, director's and duty administrator's office, etc.);

- Technical buildings.

The film equipment complex includes: design, rewinding, unit cooling of film projectors, a room and a projectionist's workshop, a radio center, and a sanitary unit.

The stage is bounded on three sides by the main walls of the hall for spectators and separated from it by a soft curtain. The stage is limited on all four sides by capital walls and is connected to the audience hall by a wide portal opening, which is closed with a curtain.
