The boiler room is the heart of the heating system, so the first thing to do is to decide on the types of fuel and brands or types of basic technological equipment. According to the technological scheme, it is allowed to design a boiler house in combination with alternative sources of thermal energy, such as: solar collectors, heat pumps, etc., boilers with electric heating, electric water heaters. The master plan of the boiler house provides for the placement of magnifying and storage areas, storage and temporary structures, which are necessary during the construction and installation works. On the site of the boiler house are located:

- main building;

- fuel economy and ash and slag removal;

- transformer substation;

- gas control point;

- condensate collection and pumping station;

- storage tanks for hot water supply;

- water treatment facilities;

- reagent facilities.

When designing boiler houses, it is necessary to provide a single compositional solution for all buildings and structures, taking into account the characteristics of the surrounding buildings. At least two exits are provided from the boiler room located on the roof: the main one connects the boiler room with the staircase of the main building, the second one is located on the opposite side. When placing the boiler house on a flat surface, exits are provided directly to the surface through a fire-fighting vestibule - type 1 lock and access to the surface from the main building by a flight of stairs. When designing a boiler house, it is necessary to proceed from the conditions of compact supply of boiler units, heat generators, including fuel devices, tail heating surfaces, draft units, ash collectors, instrumentation, adjustment and control devices. Depending on the type and nature of the medium that is transported, the boiler room pipelines are divided into steam and water pipelines, fuel oil pipelines, fuel gas pipelines, etc. The project provides for the deaeration of additional water and all condensate that enters the boiler room.
