General secondary education is a mandatory component of continuous education aimed at ensuring the comprehensive development of the individual through study and education. There are different types of general educational institutions: a special school (boarding school); gymnasium; lyceum; school of social rehabilitation; evening school, etc. The most common are elementary school, basic (basic) and secondary school. School sites, as a rule, provide for educational, physical culture and sports, educational and research, economic zones and recreation areas. The basis of the architectural and planning solution is the grouping of premises corresponding to their functional purpose. In addition, the school building should contribute to the creation of a psychological climate and sanitary and hygienic comfort, aesthetic education of students, ensure the distribution of all students into separate groups, taking into account age characteristics and the development of individual abilities. An important factor that determines the basic composition of the school is the nature of the relationship between individual functional blocks or groups of premises. In design and construction practice, one can conditionally distinguish such types of architectural composition as: centralized, blocked, pavilion and mixed. The composition of the school is significantly influenced by the layout and mutual placement of educational blocks and sections, taking into account the requirements for their optimal orientation. The most common scheme with one-sided placement of four classes and general recreation. For older students, an educational section is used with one- and two-sided placement of classrooms, united by a corridor recreation. Premises that are not part of educational blocks and sections are combined into groups: general school and educational and industrial, educational and sports and premises for cultural and mass work and general school purposes (canteens, canteens, administrative and economic, medical services). When designing school institutions, natural lighting and insolation of educational and auxiliary premises are provided, fire safety requirements are taken into account. The constructive scheme of educational institutions is determined taking into account the industrial and construction base of the settlement and the technical and economic analysis. The most common in construction are local materials, monolithic and prefabricated reinforced concrete structures, light metal systems, shells, etc.
