A shopping and entertainment center is a common type of building for the commercial industry. Shopping centers are the main objects of trade and consumer services, which combine various catering, consumer services and trade enterprises. Shopping malls and malls are of local and urban significance. Local centers often consist of two or three large blocks, which combine enterprises that are close in function and subordination. SECs of urban significance according to the urban planning principle are divided into three types: shopping centers of the planning area; specialized and citywide shopping center. Centers of the first type are located on sites common to several service institutions, which makes it possible to economically use the urban territory, and also forms large architectural complexes. Specialized centers are located autonomously in places of greatest attraction for visitors and often cooperate with transport hubs. At the same time, transport and pedestrian flows are organized at different levels. A city-wide shopping and entertainment center is being designed in the city center. Providing at the same time convenient connections with residential areas and with transport hubs of internal and external transport. Methods of functional zoning of the main volumes of the building:

1) horizontal (planar);

2) vertical (multi-tiered).

From the whole variety of space-planning solutions of shopping centers, three main compositional schemes can be distinguished:

1) Linear (extended) - in which one or more objects have a significant length along the shopping pedestrian street, transport entrances are organized from two sides or at the underground level. Main elements: shopping malls, pedestrian shopping streets, arcades, etc.;

2) Complex - in which the building density of the site will be 70-80%, transport entrances are foreseen from one or more sides, possibly at the underground level;

3) Pavilion (dissected) - consists of large volumes of various purposes, located within the ring highway and interconnected by pedestrian streets.
